灭火器，为什么能扑灭火？

Fire needs oxygen to keep burning. 燃烧需要氧气才能持续。 Many extinguishers use carbon dioxide. 很多灭火器用的是二氧化碳。 The gas is heavier than air. 这种气体比空气还重。 It covers the fire like a blanket. 它像毯子一样盖住火焰。 Then the fire cannot get oxygen. 火焰就吸不到氧气了。 Without oxygen, the fire goes out. 没有氧气，火就灭了。 Never use water on an oil fire. 油锅起火，可千万别用水浇。
